Ada is Two

As I stay up way too late putting the finishing touches on the decorations for Ada's 2nd birthday party, I am obviously waxing nostalgic about the past year with my beautiful little lady. It is really quite amazing all of the things that have happened in just one year.

Some highlights:

• Started walking (took her first step while listening to Beastie Boys Paul's Boutique!)
• Went from saying one word to speaking in full sentences including saying things like, "Actually Momma, I'd like cereal not yogurt."
• Is really trying to figure out 'where' things are in relation to other things like "Toddler 2", Dada's office, Momma's office, Olympia, Florida etc.
• Learned to sing the ABCs, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Eensy Weensy Spider, How Much is That Doggy in the Window, Baa Baa Black Sheep
• Learned to count to ten
• Learned her basic colors
• Learned to spell her name
• Learned to use a fork and a spoon
• Learned to drink from a cup without a lid
• Learned to put her own shirt and shoes on
• Started using the potty at least once a day
• Got her first baby doll (who's name is Baby)
• Went to Bumbershoot for the first time (and Loved it!) and saw The Decemberists and Bob Dylan
• Liked to go to the Aquarium, the Zoo, the Science Center and Olympia
• Got sent home early from school for flooding the classroom by putting paper towels down the toilet and flushing
• Liked to eat pancakes and eggs, quesadillas, avocados, muffins (blueberry in particular), 'squeezes', cereal bars, fruit strips, tofu, goat cheese, satsumas, brie, turkey sandwiches
• Liked to go to the 'restaurant' (particularly Portage Bay and The Hi-Life both in Ballard)
• Got her first bike
• Watched her first football game on TV
• Loved to 'Talk about the Day"
• Learned to give really good hugs
• Liked to tell Momma and Dada, "I love You more"

Ada, you are the BEST and I am looking forward to the next amazing year with you.
